One of our customers, a large contractor with a fleet of 300+ trucks, recently told us they achieved a staggering 86% reduction in risky driving events thanks to our dual-facing dash cams. This substantiates the significant ROI that fleets experience when they leverage best-in-class dash cam technology to help proactively address risky driving and provide litigation protection for their drivers and the company.

The National Private Truck Council (NPTC) 2021 Benchmarking Survey noted that dash cam adoption went from 9% in 2014 to a whopping 69% in 2021.

On August 2nd, 2022, the fleet president was informed that dash cam reporting revealed over 700 instances of risky driving behaviors in one day, including driver cell phone use, eyes off the road, hands off the wheel, driver fatigue, and more.

On hearing the news, he took immediate action and directed all regional managers to promptly instruct employees to stop using cell phones while driving, which was the top risky behavior observed. The next day, August 3rd, risky driving behaviors dropped 86% — only 108 total events!

Frances Crowley, Associate Director of Technology Solutions for J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., asserts that dash cams are more than a best practice. “By leveraging the use of dash cams to identify and address risky driving behaviors, this carrier prioritizes safety and compliance, resulting in safer highways for all motorists.”

Josh Lovan, J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. Industry Business Advisor, agrees that leadership’s prioritization of safety makes the biggest difference. “Leaders who pay lip service to safety but then financially reward or refuse to penalize risky behaviors are active saboteurs of risk mitigation strategies. Conversely, when leaders prioritize safety and address risk, they protect their drivers and their organization’s bottom line.”
