Metal Sales is a manufacturer of steel building components. They operate a mixed fleet of owned and leased units across the country. The Encompass back office helps keep the company’s DOT files organized and in compliance. “Encompass saves me a lot of time and effort and helps keep things up to date and current. Hall has total visibility to the company’s fleet right within the Encompass platform. “With the new Encompass interface, I've been able to get all of our equipment in – 100+ trucks and almost 300 trailers, plus our booms and our moffetts,” said Hall. “That includes all the registrations, title paperwork, and maintenance. It’s a huge tool for us.”
“We rolled out the J. J. Keller Road & Driver Cam in the last couple years,” said Hall. “I have recalled videos from the system that we needed for accidents and incidents. It’s been instrumental in helping with insurance and driver exoneration.”
Hall is responsible for monitoring footage captured by the J. J. Keller Road & Driver Cam, looking for incidents that require driver coaching. “I look at the automatically triggered dash cam events and send them on to my supervisor who deals with the traffic managers,” said Hall. “They oversee the drivers and work with them on an individual basis to resolve risky driving and make them aware of what they need to do to be a safer driver.”
Metal Sales also relies on Encompass® with ELogs to track their drivers’ hours of service.
